Chapter 40 sneak peek –
Adam and Heather walked through the archway in the wall into a small courtyard. On the left side of them, stood a small brick building with stained glass windows and a large wooden door that had been painted a bright red color. It was obvious from looking at the building that this was the chapel that was mentioned on the plaque on the wall outside the kirkyard.
To the right of them, was a small cemetery. They could see dozens of headstones and crosses. It was the final resting place of many of the Templar knights. A sudden sense of sorrow filled Heather at the thought of all of these brave knights lying dead in their graves.
Adam started to walk towards the cemetery and Heather followed closely behind him. Weaving in and out between the headstones, they both wandered the graveyard reading the names and dates carved into the old stones.
“It’s hard to believe that these have been here since the thirteenth century and that they have survived so well.” Said Heather.
“Yes. It is.” Adam agreed. “I almost feel honored to be here.”
“Me too. Is that weird?” asked Heather.
“So, we found the graveyard, what do we do next?” asked Adam.
“Your guess is as good as mine.” Said Heather.
